Generally, the symbol [tex]\omega[/tex] is used to indicate the angular velocity.

In a circular motion, the angular velocity is defined as the time rate of change of the angular displacement, relative to the origin. If we call [tex]\theta[/tex] the angular displacement of an object relative to the origin, and t the time, the angular velocity can be written as
[tex]\omega = \frac{\theta}{t} [/tex]
and it is measured in radiants per second (rad/s).
