If f(x) =2x^2-2-10 what is the value of f(1) to the nearest tenth of necessary

Wherever you see an x in the equation, simply sub in 1. 

f(1) = 2(1)² - 2 - 10
     = 2 - 2 - 10
     = -10

Therefore, the answer is -10.
