She worked to end lynching. She raised money to investigate the reason black people were being lynched and found that it was mostly to suppress and intimidate black people. These men and women were often "charged" of a crime by the lynch mob and killed. Ida B. Wells published her findings, spoke to different groups in New York City and abroad, and let protests.
