Acceleration =

       (change in speed) / (time for the change)
AND
       (direction of the change)

-- Change in speed = (end value) - (start value) = 60 km/hr
                                                                                = 16-2/3 m/s
-- Time for the change = 5 sec

-- Direction of the change = east.

                   Acceleration =  3-1/3 m/s² east .
