As per an axiom in Euclidean geometry, if (two,three) points lie in a plane, the (plane,line,) containing those points also lies in the same plan.

If two points lie on the same plane, then the line containing them lies on the same plane. Think of two distinct points on a normal Cartesian coordinate grid. If both points are on the grid, then a line can be drawn between them on the same grid. In this case, the grid itself is the 2-dimensional plane.
