How do you solve [tex] \frac{x}{3} + y = 1[/tex] ?? Please help!

Solve the following system:
{x + 3 y = 8
{4 x - y = 6
Solve for x:
x/3 + y = 1
Subtract y from both sides:
x/3 = 1 - y
Multiply both sides by 3:
Answer: x = 3 - 3 y
