5 5/6 becomes the mixed number 35/6, and 2 2/3 becomes the mixed number 8/3, which can be rewrittten as 16/6.
                                              3*17
Then:  35/6 + 16/6 = 51/6 = ---------- =  17/2 (answer)
                                              3 * 2
