Why might nicotine-containing products, such as chewing gums or skin patches, help a person who is trying to quit smoking?

It would get the consumer addicted to gum instead  of smoking, which is better.

Because thing's like gum helps them because it keeps their mind off of the cigarettes bc of them chewing gum. This is a good technique
