What is the main mechanism for regulating hormone secretion?

The answer to this question would be: negative feedback

In negative feedback mechanism, the body would detect the amount of hormone produced. If the amount of the hormone is too high, the body will decrease the hormone production. This will control the hormone concentration level so it won't be toxic to the body.
