How does atp supply energy to power metabolism?

The metabolism of carbohydrates and fat gives us ATP.When ADP is high,this reaction takes a phospate from one ADP on another one and makes ATP,which is used for energy by the cell.The remainder AMP stimulates glycolysis and by this means more atp is supplied.
