Subtract 4 from both sides of the equation.
2|2x−2|=16
Divide both sides of the equation by 2.
|2x−2|=8
Set 2x-2 equal to positive and negative 8.
2x−2=8,2x−2=−8
Solve both equations for x.
x=5,−3

2|2x − 2| + 4 = 20.
2|2x − 2|  = 20.- 4
2|2x − 2| = 16
|2x − 2| =8

That means:
1st: 2x-2 = 8   and 2nd: 2x - 2 = -8
1st: 2x=10 and x = 5

2nd  2x-2=-8, 2x = -6 and x = -3

So x = 5 and x = -3 (1st answer)
