−2 < x ≤ 3,  because the domain is the set of X values, and the first thing you look at is the lowest X value and the highest X value. which is -2 and 3, then you see if the dot is shaded in or not, for example the point (3,3) is a shaded circle and (-2,-1) is open (not shaded). Shaded means that value is included and open means it is not included.
