Describe the difference between factoring and multiplying.

factoring your basically finding the numbers that are multiplied to get your main number 
for example 6 the factors would be 1:6, 2:3 because those numbers are the only ones that multiplied together equal 6

& multiplying is just stuff like 4x2 = 8
