A tilt-meter is a fault monitoring device which is a very sensitive inclinometer and it allows to measure very small changes from the vertical level and thus, detect faults either in a given structure or in the ground.
These work as a carpenter's level and thus, can monitor minor deformations and measure small changes in the slope.
