The planum temporale is located in the primary auditory cortex that is within the Sylvian fissure. The planum temporale is a triangular area that is thought to be larger o the left side of the brain in the majority of people. It is also thought that this part of the body is strongly involved with the language function and is of major relevance to treat disorders like dyslexia
