2x + 5y = 11.....multiply by 3
-3x + 8y = -1....multiply by 2

-6x + 16y = -2 (result of multiplying by -2)

y = 31/31
y = 1

2x + 5y = 11
2x + 5(1) = 11
2x + 5 = 11

x = 6/2
