A) 5x + y = 9
B) 3x + 2y = 4 Multiplying equation A by -2 we get:

A) -10x + -2y = -18 Then adding that to B)
B) 3x + 2y = 4
-7x = -14
x = 2

A) 5 * 2 + y = 9
y = -1
