The solution to the answer is as follows:

4(cosx)^2 - 3 = 0 

Add 3 to each side 


4(cosx)^2 = 3 


Divide both sides by 4 


(cosx)^2 = 3/4 


Take the square root of each side 


cosx = sqrt(3/4) or -sqrt(3/4) 


cosx = sqrt(3)/2 or -sqrt(3)/2 


x = pi/6, 11pi/6 or 5pi/6, 7pi/6 


x = 30, 330 or 150, 210
