First we need to find the slope between the two points:

(y2-y1) / (x2-x1)

= -3 - 5  /  -7 - 5

= -8 / -12

=  2 / 3

We have the slope. Now we need to find the y intercept.

y = (2 / 3)x + b

Using one of the points, I will be using (-7,-3)

-3 = (2 / 3)-7 + b

-3 = -14 / 3 + b

b = -3 + 14 / 3

b = 5 / 3

Therefore, the equation will be:

y = (2 / 3)x + (5 / 3)
