P= 2h+w+ π w

Subtract 2h from both sides to get
P - 2h = w + wpi

Factor a ‘w’ from the right to get
P - 2h = w(1 + pi)

Divide both sides by (1 + pi) to get
(P - 2h)/(1 + pi) = w
