distance formula is [tex]\sqrt{(x_{1}-x_{2})^{2} + (y_{1}-y_{2})^{2}[/tex] so the equation comes out to be (under the square root) 7--3 squared  + 2-1 squared which is 100 + 1 which is 101. then when you put 101 square root in a calculator you get 10.0498756. You simplify that to 10.05
