Prokaryotic cells lack internal cellular bodies (organelles), while eukaryotic cells possess them. Examples of prokaryotes are bacteria and cyanobacteria (formerly known as blue‐green algae). Examples of eukaryotes are protozoa, fungi, plants, and animals.
