First setup the slope equation

m=(-4-6)/(1-6)

now solve

m=2

First we have to subtract the two numbers.

(6,6)

-(1,-4)

(5,10)

Now we turn it into a fraction with Rise (y) over Run (x)

10/5 = 2  2 is our slope.

y = mx + b

M is our slope.

Now plug in one of the coordinate points.

-4 = 2(1) + b

-4 = 2 + b

Now subtract 2 from both sides.  -6 = b.

Your equation would be y = 2(x) - 6.  Hope this helped!
