Some important characteristics of the civilizations in the Indus River valley were their personal cleanliness as they believed that it helps keep the city healthy. They also engaged in town planning which brought order to their civilization. Also, they were involved in the manufacture of woolen textiles and cotton, as well as the construction of houses that are composed of burnt-bricks.
