How are a file and a database different from each other?

Both file and database include data. However,database is a collection of data organized in a specific manner, while data file is a collection of related records stored on a storage medium such as a hard disk or optical disc (file can be text, numbers, images, audio, and video). Database allows access, retrieval, and use of that data.
