The song “Move On Up a Little Higher” is a gospel song first recorded by Brother John Sellers in late 1946, but famously recorded by gospel singer Mahalia Jackson on September 12, 1946, that sold eight million copies. The song was honored with the Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 1998 and was honored by the Library of Congress in 2005 by adding it to the National Recording Registry.
