The Ferris Wheel, sometimes also known as the Chicago wheel, was the highlight of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois. It was built by George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr. The Ferris Wheel was 264 feet high and had 36 cars, each car capable of holding up to 40 people in it.
